NBC is hosting a party in honor of Betty White’s 90th birthday! But don’t fret if you didn’t get an invite. The network plans to air the dinner-style event as a special around the time of the Golden Girl’s birthday on January 17, 2012, TV Guide Magazine reports.
“You fellating Santa. I have to be blunt, sir, because that’s how TMZ is gonna report it, Fox is gonna repeat it, and Jon Stewart is gonna finish it. ‘Here. Comes. Santa.’”—Eli Gold, The Good Wife (via pitywitty)
“Her performance is astonishing and all but flawless; a masterpiece of mimicry which re-imagines Thatcher in all her half-forgotten glory. Streep has the basilisk stare; the tilted, faintly predatory posture. Her delivery, too, is eerily good – a show of demure solicitude, invariably overtaken by steely, wild-eyed stridency.”—The Guardian about Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady
“Meryl gave me this gift that made me sob in my Sunset Boulevard dressing room. Thank God I had already fixed my base, it would have set me back 30 minutes. She had this beautiful pair of pearl earrings that I first noticed when we all read the script. I thought they were so beautiful. A week later, a package arrived at the stage door and in it were these beautiful antique pearls with a note saying, “They’re battered but beautiful, just like the best of us.” It was the greatest thing anyone has ever given me.”—Glenn Close (about Meryl Streep)
